Brainstorming

Web 2.0 World
This information is designed to provide teachers with a directory of free web tools along with some suggestions as to how they may be used in the classroom. This week’s topic is: BRAINSTORMING.

1) BUBBL.US This online mind-mapping application enables you to visually represent brainstormed concepts and then web the connections and relationships between them. With bubbl.us it is possible to work collaboratively with others, embed your mind-map on web pages, it can also be saved as an image or printed.

2) EXPLORATREE is a free web resource where you can access a library of ready-made interactive thinking guides, print them, edit them or make your own. You can share them and work on them in groups too.

3) TEXT2MINDMAP is a web application that converts texts to mind maps. It takes a structured list of words or sentences, interprets it, and draws a mind map out of them. For students/teachers who prefer text.

4) WORDLE generates “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery.
